I would recommend that your lady friend tell everyone in her family what she
is looking for too. Often, someone will have one tucked away in attic or
basement thinking that there is no interest in this "old thing" and would be
very happy to have it go to an interested family member.

Subject: [Phono-L] resending question: asking for an average price

Hello all,
I sent this question out several hours ago and didn't get a bounce back
e-mail for myself so I thought it didn't go out, so I am resending the
question:

My Lady friend is looking for an Edison Standard or a Fireside that will
play both 2/4 min cylinders.
A repo horn if fine.
What would be an average price of either that we should look for. I don't
want her to pay too much for one.
She has been hooked on the phonographs since we have been together playing
my machines. It's been a while since I have had a Standard -A and it only
played 2 minute cylinders. And never had a fireside to get an idea of a
price range.
She was on e-bay last night and was bidding on a fireside w/ 2 and 4 minute
gearing and was out bid. She was very disappointed. So I told her I would
ask the Phono-list on what pricing to look for and not pay too much for a
nice working machine if we run across one.
So can anyone help
Thanks,
Keith
