Anyone ever done any serious research on toy phonographs (disc) such as for
manufacturers/licensees, varieties, numbers produced, years etc etc?
I have collected for some 30-odd years, more seriously so in later years.
However, since there is a total lack of printed reference material, I find
myself rather lost in this veritable ocean of small machinery. Every week, and
that is not an overstatement, a new model or variant or new manufacturer that I
didn?t know existed, turns up.
I have limited my collecting to purely mechanical machinery and non-plastic
items up until ca 1940-45. I would very much love to have something else than
Sears catalogs and the like determine the year of manufacture.
In case some of you out there see this cry for help and would like to share
your knowledge, then please write!
