Is there a way to translate this into English? -----Original Message----- From: Eric Stott [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, October 04, 2004 1:48 PM To: Antique Phonograph List Subject: Re: [Phono-L] Coin operated Edison home phonograph from DutchGuesthouse
In the English language there is a tradition for applying the adjective "Dutch" to an inferior substitute. (Dutch metal= imitation gold leaf, Dutch Concert= bad music, Dutch Courage= Liquor). Perhaps "Dutch Edison" might be a new term for these pieces of crap.
