In English, kinda. Funnel gigantic - Grammophon
Inn of Dutch in an urigen stood this large Grammophon for years to the closing. The heavy wood box is 28cm high and 47cm extend deep and with funnel, it has a total height of 82cm.Interessantes design, u. a. with large Label (Edison home phonograph), brass columns at the corners and pretty stop-arm. The Grammophon has at some places something flight rust and the brass parts are einbi?chen dull and bluntly yet one can it certainly again aufpolieren. Through the flashbulb, it causes is more shining than it in the original. It functions however flawlessly! By request I put cost-free a filled needle can and 3 shellac disk in addition. It can be picked up however also sent obviously good and certainly of me packed. -----Original Message----- From: Eric Stott [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, October 04, 2004 1:48 PM To: Antique Phonograph List Subject: Re: [Phono-L] Coin operated Edison home phonograph from DutchGuesthouse In the English language there is a tradition for applying the adjective "Dutch" to an inferior substitute. (Dutch metal= imitation gold leaf, Dutch Concert= bad music, Dutch Courage= Liquor). Perhaps "Dutch Edison" might be a new term for these pieces of crap.
