It seems a record cabinet lock would use a kind of key that the phonograph companies used for their machines. At least that's what I thought. ( A Phonograph Key for a Record Cabinet ) . That doesn't seem strange. Living in a home with a different key for what you wanted to lock up. Bookcases, Phonographs, Secretaries, Record Cabinets, (LIQUOR CASE !!!), I had to throw that one in.
