Hi Jeff,
I hope this email is not too late to help you. I've been out of town for a few
days. I have a respectable collection of toy machines that includes about 12
phonographs. In my opinion 200.00 would be about the most I'd give for the
Genola, if it is in nice condition. Here is a link to auction results for a
toy auction. See item 121. These little phonographs are a nice cross
collectable. My wife likes to display them with her doll collection. I think
that little record album is standard with these machines. All the pictures
I've found of the Genola show the album with it. I am sure that Merle S. will
agree that the little records are a fun collectable too.

There is an antique store near me that is going out of business. They had a
genola phonograph for sale. It was in good shape and had about three records
with it. They had it for 350.00. Question, is this a good price? Is this a
hard to find item? I have search through my books and
on the internet but have no found any information. Can you help me out?

  Thanks

  Jeff

I am always astounded at the creativity of the phonograph pioneers

Take a look at thei smachine. Its coin operated, for public amusement. As
the record plays the horn & tone arm revolve around the record. Probably to
ensure the room was equally sprayed with music. Unfortunately the one
pictured is not complete
