I can't remember where but heard a particular brand of plastic Picnic plates 
worked well at least for trial work while "tuning" up the recorder 
amp-cartidge stuff. Don't remember the brand tho. I think I'll make a trip to 
the 
Hospital & see if they'll release any old X-rays.

I have, what I beleive to be, some recording blanks.

They are thin, red, 7" in diameter and would require a 45rpm spindle
adapter.  They are marked as Edison Diamond Disks...but are very very thin
in material.

I beleive they were originally used on later style dictating machines but
they should work for home recording as well.
