Seems like a lot of money to me, but if someone wants to make an offer, I
can't see many people trying to buy it. I can go look at it if need be, and
can arrange freight shipping through my retail store.

Rare Original Shipping Crate (box and lid) for a Thomas A Edison Disc
Upright Phonograph, of Orange New Jersy. Date of last patent was May 23
1916, so this piece is in the same time period. The original phonograph
which came in the box was a Model 250 Diamond Disc Official Laboratory
Model.
This crate was shipped originally to Souix City, Iowa (address stenciled on
the side) and the phonograph was owned by my great aunt, whose parents
originally immigrated from Norway. The box has been stored in a barn loft
for 90 years, 2 miles west of Irene, South Dakota.
In the corner of the lid there is a unique sticker of a woman standing next
to a phonograph that reads" The New Edison--The Phonograph with a Soul".
This piece is a great conversation piece and I am sure someone will do
something really original with this different kind of antique.
Local pickup only. Please contact me on cell# 512-619-3374. Thank you for
your interest.
