to test the stylus, try it on a> few records.  I replaced a stylus that made a 
mark on the run out and> the new one did the same thing.  Interestingly, the 
new one did not make> a mark on any other record, just that one.  In that case

Thanks everyone for you feedback. I plan on buying a book soon on all this 
stuff but all my extra money is going to buying cylinders.
Got one in the mail today it is BA 23145.pat.6  23000 is the British 
series(thanks Steve) The star of Bethleham by H. Williamson. I would have to 
say this is the most wonderful sound I've heard coming from my Amberola to 
date. This cylinder must be close to mint I can't hear a tick or a pop on 
it. Anyone know what the H stands or anything about this singer because he 
sent chills up my spine.
