About five years ago, my wife came home beaming one Saturday morning from the grocery. "I've got a surprise for you!" Naturally, I was hoping for something like canned tamales or black eyed peas. "I stopped at a garage sale on the way home, and I found something I think you're going to like!" Well, that ruled out anything to eat, but my curiosity was piqued. She was holding something behind her back. Her eyes sparkled. With a flourish, she presented me with...yes...one of Karl Frick's "real cuties." She said, "I paid $25.00 for it - was that a good deal?" I told her it was a VERY good deal. I didn't have the heart to tell her the truth for a week. I must admit that the black paint and gold stripes looked quite good. If it weren't for the fantasy form of the horn, you could believe it was a century old! George Paul
