In fact, yes, it is OK to post for sale/trade items. And yes, BidPay is RIP as of 31 Dec.
Phono-L only has one "rule" per se... be polite and act like adults. You are encouraged to stay on topic (i.e., phonographs & related), but off topic posts are also allowed. I don't moderate or otherwise control the discussion. In the years since its inception, I've only had to boot one person for bad behavior. I'm not sure I understand the comment about Phono-L being a "good old boy" list. A lot of people here go by their first names... I don't recall anyone using fake identities. Where I come from, friends go by their first names. Nothing sinister should be assumed by that fact alone. Phono-L is an email list. As such, you may have multiple conversations going on at once. Some threads may not interest you... read them or not, it's your choice. If you have a question, chime in! People will answer. If nobody answers, don't feel snubbed. It may be that no one has an answer for you. Anyway, I am open to criticism - constructive or otherwise (I have thick skin). If you have ideas for Phono-L's improvement, please let me know! I realize that I "fell off the grid" for a while during my sister's illness and passing and tended to let Phono-L run itself. I'm back in the drivers seat now. So let me know how you feel.. Phono-L classifieds? Photo albums? Build our own virtual museum? Tell me what your ideas and, if possible, I'll make it happen. Regards, Loran (Hughes), a.k.a. "The Old Crank", sometimes good, not yet old, but haven't been a boy in a good many years. Always your benevolent host.
