I don't know why anyone would be turned off by the postings on this list.
They are almost always "on topic" and convey useful information about the
hobby.  Even rants on eBay, the "other list", or bad shippers are
interesting, at least they are to me.  While it is not necessary to agree on
the value of every topic, some on the list will find most of them useful and
worth reading.  Loran works very hard to maintain this valuable, and free,
resource, and we should all be thankful for his efforts to contribute to
phonograph collecting.  I certainly have never found the list to be a "good
old boy" one, as everyone seems to be more than willing to help new and
advanced collectors in any way possible.  Listing of wants and for-sale
items are always welcomed, and no special mechanism for doing this is
necessary.  This is not a club or fraternity, and no list member should feel
unwelcome.  I am sure, Ken, that you will find that the list is already a
real asset to new and old users, and will be even more so when you
contribute your extensive expertise.  Welcome to the list.
