In the Edison company's "Special Radio Service Bulletin #5", Section 10a 
(1/221929) it is 
stated that the phonogragh will occasionally slow down on certain loud notes if 
the weight on 
the diamond point or needle is too heavy. They further state that the this 
problem may 
usually be corrected by reducing the weight on the stylus. An adjusting screw 
for this 
purpose will be found near the pickup arm pivot. The correct weight on the 
stylus point is 5 
ounces.
