One of the recent postings mentioned the difficulty in
moving and storing Victrolas and it made me think of
moving from our old home and into a new one. About
fifteen years ago we sold our home. In that home, I
had a phonograph room that held about 500 sq feet of
phonographs and it was full. We rented a storage unit
and Mike Stitt drove all the way from Southern Oregon
to Albany to help me move the uprights and I really
like uprights. That's a one way drive of about 200
miles. The phonographs were in storage about a year
and when it was time to move them into the basement of
the new house Mike made a return trip. That's a true
phono friend!

As a side note...about six months ago Dan Melvin moved
and I volunteered to help move the talking machines.
My only comment is that is was much more difficult at
age 54 than it was at age 40! Happy Collecting, Jerry B.
