I don't know how much of my original message got through to everyone. I don't
believe that messages are edited. I have resubmitted my message below. I don't
know if people at the auction necessarily want others to know that they were
there. It's easiest to say that all the "usual subjects" were present,
including some heavy hitters. Two machine went to South America via absentee
bid, and two to Arizona.

I was fortunate enough to get the Zonophone "Eclipse." So if anyone out there
knows anything about these machines, (more than waht is in the Compendium) I
would like to here from you either through the list, or at [email protected].

Here was my original message. I mention that all catalog holders and auction
goers recieve a realized price list, but not for several weeks.

"I was at the auction. There was a lot of "auction fever" going on. There
were a few bidding wars. Thus, any realized prices should always be
viewed with caution! Anyone who receieved a catalog typically gets a
list of prices realized. Also, remember that with this auction, there
was a 10% buyer's premium, and 6% Michigan sales tax. The tax is on the
"hammer price" PLUS the buyer's premium, effectively raising the hammer
price by 16.6%. If someone shares a realized price list, I hope they
tell us if this is "hammer price" or if it includes the 10% buyer's
premium.

On a separate note, before the auction I was fortunate enough to talk
with Peter Dilg about the Zonophone Eclipse. He has the only other
complete example that we know of. Anyone that has information about this
machine, please contact me through the list, or at [email protected]
<mailto:[email protected]> "

Thanks,
Jeff

Apparently, no one on this list (or phonolist, or OTVMMB) attended this
auction. There were some beautiful and rare machines in this auction.
Rather curious that there are no reports or prices. Any help out there?

It might be a good idea for all of the people who want a detailed listing of
the prices realized at this
auction to go ahead and contact Stantons and buy the catalog. This will get
you the information you
are seeking.
