Just the silver is worth about 85 cents.  If the dime is almost uncirculated it 
would be worth 3 to 5 dollars depending on mint mark, and up to 8 dollars if in 
uncirculated MS 60.  If you are interested in coins Coin Prices magazine is 
good to buy, it comes out bi monthly and has all the values and shows how to 
grade coins.

I do some minor collecting of 19th C. british coins. It's fun to take a 
worn 1816 George III shilling & think of its history, perhaps it was in the 
pocket of "Handsome Jack" Aubrey (yeah- RIGHT!)  Suffice it to say, I'm not 
picky about condition.
