This might be a case of "I'm interested" MEANING "I'll take it" .... I had
that happen to me: I was offered a small phono at a decent price, and my reply
was "I'm interested". To me, that meant "I will buy it, yes" , but to the
seller, it meant "go ahead and sell it before Dan gets here", which is what he
did. I'd ask the first person if he means absolutely to buy the book.

Subject: [Phono-L] What is the best way to be fair?

Yesterday I posted a book on phono-l. The first email
said "I'm interested" and the second one said "I'll
take it". This is not the first time that I've faced
this dilemma. Often, people will ask for a photo.
Should I send a photo and wait for a reply before
going to the second potential buyer? I my many years
of buying and selling, I have always offered a money
back offer if the item is not what the buyer expected.
I have never had anything returned. I always try to
accurately describe anything that I'm selling. What
does the rest of the group think?
