Subject: [Phono-L] Has anyone seen anything like this?

Last week I bought a Vic II with what appears to be an after market horn. The
horn is as described: The horn has rounded petals and at each joint or seam it
interlocks something like a hinge although the horn does not fold up. The
small end of the horn has quite fine threads. They are much finer than a
Columbia threaded horn. In the elbow is the complementing piece. This piece
locks into place like any Victor horn and is about flush with the large end of
the elbow. The last quarter inch has female threads to accept the horn.

What do I have? The quality of the workmanship could be the result of
skilled craftsman or it might be a genuine after market horn. Has anyone seen
anything like this? I would appreciate any comments. Sorry, no photos.
Thanks, Jerry Blais

These are pretty neat. Actual Plubicity photos, probably shot at her
residence around 1919 or so. Some of these were used by Victor for their
monthly releases catalogues. I definitely remember the one with her hanging
out the Laundry. This one is in one of the Monthlys of the early 1920's.
There are also undoubtedly some here that were never used. I would guess the
one with her cranking up the automobile. Victor liked to capture women doing
feminine type things, such as tending the garden and hanging out the wash,
so I doubt if the photo of her cranking up the old auto was ever used. There
is another interesting shot of Ada playing the piano. I do not recoginize
this one either. So take a look, there are quite a few PR shots of Ada here
that you have never seen before.
