The "Advance Notice of New Edison Disc Record Releases" promoted the New
Standard, later EDISONIC Reproducers in their
Weekly Bulletins sent to Edison dealers & I thought these "blurbs" might be
of interest to list subscribers:

on Every Edison!"

records are heard at their best when the New Standard Reproducer is used.
Be sure that you demonstrate with a New Standard."
Weekly Bulletin No. 39 rubber stamped "Nov 2 1927" and "Nov 5 1927"
states "And for those who feel they must pay 'less than a
hundred' there's the London Upright with the new EDISONIC reproducer - now
only $ 75 list." So, by November 1927 the New
Standard Reproducer had been re-christened the EDISONIC Reproducer.
Weekly Bulletin No. 49 rubber stamped "Jan 10 1928" addressed dealers with:
"Mr. Dealer:
Do you know that efery name of an Edison owner in your town is a
potential $ 2.25 profit to you? Think of all the owners you can.
Multiply this number by 2-1/4, and you have the dollars of clear profit
which the sale of EDISONIC reproducers to them will bring you.
It's not hard - really! Even a boy, armed with the EDISONIC reproducer
and a half dozen NEW recordings, can show a surprisingly
large number of sales. It's worth a try!"

A hint - just play them the new EDISONIC
Reproducer. (Cash business for you if you do.)"

Weekly List No. 128 for August 2, 1929.

> Was the Edisonic was made to play the electrically recorded records?
>
> If the Dance come out in March 1926 to compete with the Orthophonic and
the Edisonic in March 1927 only acoustic records were made at this time.
So even if you go with the studio recording date of July 5 1927 the
Edisonic was out for at least three months before 52089 was recorded.
>
> It seems to me the Dance and Edisonic were ways to get more volume from
the acoustic records, or am I mistaken?
