Check your hinge block before investing in a stylus. I had an Amberola 30 with the same problem, someone mentioned the hinge block. I loosened it a bit, and voila, no more problems.

I did this and it worked just fine, however, I was able to snatch defeat from the Jaws or Victory when I dropped in the floor and broke it in half.
