Just wondering if you were the only bidder, and whether the Auction gallery had
any kind of reserve on the Machine. congratulations on the fantastic find !!

Subject: [Phono-L] Strange Cylinder machine WON

Well folks, the machine has been rescued. After waiting 6 hours for the
auctioneer to get to it in the back room, I bought it worth the money and it
is now here at home.
I will do some further inspection and cleaning tomorrow.
After getting it home I did insert the crank, gave her about 15 turns and
switched her on. The motor seems to run fine but manderal tries to turn but
the very old fabric belt is just too loose and won't drag the gummy
mandrel and feed screw without help.
Anyway IT RUNS and is safe at home. BTW the crank is nice and no paint
chips and has the US phono badge. It's missing the washer that holds the wood
handle on but handle is fine.
I also came home with a VV-50 empty case for five bucks. Now I need a junk
50 works.

More reports later. (I'M very happy tonight)
Don
