A lot of  different dealer aids were made by various companies, and Victor 
would  typically offer them to the dealers at cost.  There was a Nipper and  
Gramophone combination on a base that was offered in the 1920s (as seen in 
the  illustration in the auction).  The Gramophone being offered in this  
auction looks like the one from this set, however the Nipper does not appear  
to be from this set.  The set's Nipper has much more detail, especially  in 
the ears.  The one in the auction also appears to be slightly larger  than 
the one that came with the set.  The seller indicates that the  Gramophone is 
made of wood, but it is actually some sort of plaster.  The  horn, crank 
and arm support are metal.  The missing base is also plaster  and the whole 
thing together is quite heavy.

Thanks.  That explains the cobbled look of the thing.  And I  found it in 
Rolfs' book of Nipper Collectibles.
