For wax cylinders I use a shoe brush and brush in the directions of the grooves. For blue amberols I use a soft cloth and distilled water. Examine them in sunlight to see how clean they are, DD records that look clean and shiny can really surprise you in the sunlight. Wax amberols that have been properly stored hold up well. I have some 2 and 4 minute records made of the wax amberol wax that are actually in good condition.
