Thanks John for posting these photos.  We don't see very many A-200's.

That certainly is an unusual start/stop lever.  It's very similar in some 
respects to the one on my early A-250, and very different from the one on a 
later (pre-standardization) A-250 I once had.  It appears to in principle to be 
the same as the one on my earlier A-250 (serial #1429), except for the 
step-down and extending under the platter.

Interesting to see the mute ball.  If I remember, Frow noted that this feature 
wasn't employed until November 1914, and of course the factory fire that ended 
the early DD era (with all of its interesting variations) was just a few weeks 
later.  It would be good to verify if this November date is accurate.  My later 
A-250 also had a mute ball with vertical lever (rather than horizontal, as on 
the 1915 and later DD phonographs.

If you don't mind sharing it, what's the serial number on your A-200?  (If 
you'd rather not, no problem).

Has anyone else seen this step-down start/stop arrangement?
