Symphonola was sold by the Larkin Co. of Buffalo, NY. Larkin was a very interesting company -- with an office building designed by Frank Lloyd Wright (now demolished). They started out selling soap, then embraced premium schemes, and finally issued catalogs of cut-rate furniture and home accessories. In Western and Central NY plenty of Larkin firniture shows up, and there is a special kind of desk which in that vicinity is known as a "Larkin desk."
