A few months back, friends asked me about unusual e-mails they had received from me. After looking at an example, I knew that I hadn't send it. Come to find out, my email account had been hijacked by someone hacking into my ISP's server.
I changed all of my passwords immediately. The next day when I logged into my account, I couldn't access it as they had tried to hack it again and locked up the access to my account by attempting incorrect passwords too many times. I changed my password again and I have my account set so that I have to manually enter my password each time and don't have it saved for auto login. Since then, I haven't had any more issues. This is something that happens to hundreds of people (perhaps a lot more) every day without their having any knowledge that it took place. I don't know Jerry, but it sounds like he was a victim of a hacker, just as I had been.
