It is a contract and they must pay. Check the high bidder's feedback and see if 
a negative was left by the seller over the next few days. If not, chances are 
it was shilling.

So the "high bidder" just crapped out on him.  I thought that the eBay  bid 
was a contract that had to be honored.  So much for the eBay  contract.  
Unless he himself put in the high bid??? If so he owes eBay the  commission. 
What am I missing here?
