Hello all
Here is a very unusual item - it is an Exhibition reproducer back flange, but
it is in a brass shell. I first thought it was an a brass flange that someone
had made, but when I removed it from the reproducer, I found that the brass
portion was only a shell with the rubber flange inside of it. This is a great
way to keep an old flange from warping, I guess...has anyone ever seen this
before? The rubber flange was old, but it seems as if it may be a hair thinner
than a regular Exhibition flange. The brass shell is about .050 inches thick at
the sides and perhaps .139 inches thick on the top surface. Here is a link to
some photos:

Any ideas as to if this is a custom job or an aftermarket item?? It seems very
precisely made to be a home job.
Thanks
John Robles
