That is why I said "Why not put an H stylus and bar in it?" As long as the reproducer has mechanical freedom it should work very well. Both the C and H styli are sapphire rods with a knob polished in them like a baseball bat. The Columbia is like the early Edison styli, they actually polished a ball shape in the end of the sapphire, Edison later only polished the contact surface. The Model D is the only reproducer I have seen post 1901 that has this early type styli in it. The early B that came out in the summer of 1901 had the surface only polished of the styli. Thanks to Ron L I can send photos of the C and H styli if you want to see how they look large. The H is .017 on the rod and .015 where it is polished and has a contace surface of .0035 like the DD and Dia ABC diamonds. (Thanks to Rob L) Steve
