The "REAL PROBLEM" with this restoration, is not that the machine was saved 
from being scrapped, but the "ABSURD" cost of the restoration. Sure, they did a 
good job, but it's a relatively common machine that you could find an excellent 
original example of for $1,000 or less. Go to any phonograph show with $4,500 
in cash and you can come home with something that This is the equivalent of 
spending $50,000 to restore a car that is ultimately worth $10,000 in restored 
condition... but maybe sentimental value overrides the decision, if it was 
passed down in their family.
