Ron: Yes, I think they are smaller in size and width. I did try a reproducer which I think was from a table top or floor model. It was to large.
thanks for your encouragement. later Bob -----Original Message----- From: phono-l-boun...@oldcrank.org [mailto:phono-l-boun...@oldcrank.org] On Behalf Of Ron L'Herault Sent: Wednesday, August 22, 2012 7:14 AM To: 'Antique Phonograph List' Subject: Re: [Phono-L] Columbia VIVA-TONAl suitcase reproducer needed Is the reproducer different from the non-portables? At least some I have seen pictures of are the same. Options? Ebay and George Vollema. If really desperate, maybe you can recreate the parts with good old JB Weld. Does anyone have one which is workable, or at least salvageable for parts which I may be able to use to assemble a usable reproducer? I did consult with George & Duane with no luck. I did find a Kimble reproducer which fits the recess however, the diameter of the reproducer is to large and when resting in the cradle, the lid will not close. The diameter of the reproducer needs to be 2 7/16 or less to work. Tight tolerances with this compact machine. I really would like to find a workable replacement.
