Hi John: Slowly wind the spring and watch the barrel. You should see a approx. 
dime sized threaded projection with a flat headed screwdriver slot on the 
barrel part facing you.Wind the spring fully and so you can see the opening and 
inject about a teaspoon of grease/oil mixture. Replace the screw and wind the 
motor up and let wind down 2-3 times. It should thin the previously applied 
grease and quiet it down. Try 1 teaspoon's worth the first time don't 
be tempted to use too much or it could come out. Place paper towels underneath 
for several days in case it drips. Charlie.
