We always fix lots of bugs and we don't think it's worthwile to go
chasing bugs in old versions which are very likely to be fixed. We can
not support all old PHP 3 versions either.

The web site will not allow me to report a bug in an older version of
PHP.  However, the version in question is still in common use and is
shipped as part of RedHat 7.1, which is a very commonly used
distribution.  Upgrading an application server on a live site is a a
step which should not be taken litely, and one which I am probably not
going to do just so that I can verify for you whether or not this bug
(which has not been previously reported) is already fixed.

Also, despite the fact that I am not currently reporting a bug in PHP,
this web site requires me to select a version of PHP to report a bug
in...
