I'll keep trying things to see if I can get libphp4.so created.

No, not -exactly- I have all current RPM's from RedHat via up2date
installed so I am sure gcc and glibc, for example, are the latest
version(s) and not what was installed last year.

Same compiler version, same kernel, etc?
