BTW, php-4.2.3 works just fine with Apache 2.0.44

I'll recompile Apache 2.0.44 again and try with the latest snapshot and
see what I get...
I appreciate you taking the time to confirm Apache 2.0.44 and PHP's
snapshot will work fine on RedHat 7.3

If it only happens with Apache2, I suggest you check your
apache2 installation and preferrably reinstall it anyway.
I just tried with latest Apache2 and it works just fine here.
In any case, this is not a PHP bug.
