I've upgraded to PHP 4.3.1 (from 4.2.2). The install went without a hitch. Now, any php file at all leaves the error i mentioned on the bottom of the page, rendering PHP unusable. By Zend I mean Zend Optimizer v2.1.0. I don't think it is related to the problem.
