from my first reply to him:

   [...]
   - ask the right resource

in your case the php-general mailing list is the one to ask,
see the list descriptions on http://php.net/support.php

   "[EMAIL PROTECTED] General user list
This is a really high volume general list
      for PHP users"

   "[EMAIL PROTECTED]: Developer list
A medium volume list for those who want
to help out with the development of PHP"
   [...]

2nd one:

you are still asking the wrong list [... solution followed]

3rd one:

Eduardo, please get a clue! You've been told more than once
in detail where to find the informations you need and where
to ask questions if you have problems with the documentation!

[EMAIL PROTECTED] is definetly *not* the place to ask this
   type of questions

others have answered as well, some public, more private

"you are asking the wrong list, use [EMAIL PROTECTED] instead"

what is so hard to understand about that?

and how are we supposed to guess his nationality and native language
from just his name and a @hotmail.com email address?

he asked an english question on an english list
the question was rather stupid as the answer was bleeding obvious
but he was given an answer that contained the information requested
as a manual link (the enlish one, but the part in question is translated
in the Brazilian version)
in addition he was given detailed information about where to find
documentation, which list to ask instead of php-general and why,
and how to give a little more information in further questions
so that one does not have to depend on guesses when giving an answer

might be that he didn't understand all of it, but the two key issues
"wrong list" and "read documentation, follow this link" should have
been obvious enough

but no, not only does he continue to send rather obscure questions
to php-dev, about a week later he comes up with almost the very
same question as the first one, clearly indicating that he has not
read the manual pages he was pointed to or that he just doesn't have
a clue (and he had sent me a 'thank you, you've been helpfull!' reply
on my first answer that made me think he had followed the link i
posted him. didn't come up to my mind this could have been ironic
after all until yesterday :( )
