First off, can you try using http://www.php.net/~zeev/php-4.2.3RC1.tar.gz and see if you experience the same problems? I've made some thread-safety related fixes there, even though none should lead to a hard crash...
If it doesn't solve the problem, can you send me as much information about the setup you have, including: 1. The files you use to reproduce the problem 2. Version of Windows 3.
