I'm a newcomer to php and actually to web development in general, but I've 
closely followed the FIG here and on social media for the past year.

Early in this thread, I read that "snarky" comments was among the 
complaints against Paul. Reading through months of posts here and on other 
media, it seems that snarkiness is a prerequisite to being a member here. 

The fact is, there are big egos here, of which Paul is chief. However, ego, 
arrogance, pride, etc. are evenly distributed among this group. Everyone 
needs to take a step back and refocus. 

The work of the FIG must go on. This is an important group that has played 
a large part in the growth of php in recent years. To remain relevant, you 
must get back to the task at hand. 

Thank you for the sacrifice of your time. I hope to see this group come 
together and continue to push the php community forward.

However this turns out, I hope the FIG can move forward and get back to the 
business at hand.
