hi guys, I need to do some performance testing for a site of mine. I want to compare performance of various combinations of using APC, Squid, Apache/LightHTTPD mod_php/fastcgi.
all very well I can build the various setups but I'm stuck as to how to go about recreating realistic load on the machine in question. I don't want to have to go out and buy some commercial software. STFW is making my head spin. Does anyone have any tips, urls, advice as to how to start going about creating something like a 'test suite' for testing high load performance of a website?
