 OK, but it wasn't an assumption. You read I.E in your last response as the
browser Internet Explorer since it was in capital letters. I guess you
meant to use the abbreviation i.e. as in the Latin "that is". It wasn't
entirely clear. That coupled with the fact that a lot of Internet Explorer
users using older versions have been complaining of similar problems.

In any case, I understand your frustration, and I wish I had a better
answer for you, but as we continue to progress with the use of javascript
and HTML5 the web will continue to be a messy place. The new site does
offer some better features with these technologies. It clearly doesn't work
out very well in every browser, but that's something we'll have to deal
with over time. I haven't heard many complaints from FireFox users using
the latest FF, and it should be just as easy to install FF on a Debian
system as it would be to install Iceweasel. Maybe this can be a temporary
work-around for you until we can find someone that will implement a more
graceful way to degrade the javascript on php.net?
