You have karma because you are considered to be a trusted person that tries to help the project to push forward and do more good then harm. Your time is extremely valuable. Please do not be wasting it doing stupid paperwork do get through a process which was created "just to have a process". If you think your changes are dodgy and/or people may not like it.. Mail a headsup first. If you discover an issue/improvement suggest, and don't have the time to do it yourself right away, file a ticket. In any other case.. Just push it.
