I can't compare the two lists as the first one is offline, but ok, let's wait a week :)Back from Polska (never try to drink more than polish people) I see that the note was deleted, but nothing was done and the link is still giving a bad page. There's this URL who can be used :
http://php.weblogs.com/editors
but I was asking myself, why don't we have our proper list on php.net ? sure it will be a little hard to maintain, but it will sound more official.
Any approval for the link / comment on the proposition ?
I was written back by the person with the current link, apparently
something happened with the host but he said it'll be back up
within a week. So I vote we leave it, and feel it's better than
the link above or any other out there. And, it's not like the manual will be built anytime soon :)
Regarding our own editor list, my gut is against that. How+1
about we just create a faq with the link that basically says
anything will work, but some offer PHP syntax highlighting, and
various other features. And, that many free ones exist. In
fact, we can link to both php editor lists, and maybe some others, like the ad friendly php-editors.com
It will be great to have more than one URL listed to avoid the problem that have bring this discussion ;)
Cheers,
Mehdi
