I have tried to set up several visual CVS clients to my new RedHat9, but I was unable to make at least one provide the basic functions. In case anyone has suggestions on this, please do not hesitate to inform me :)
LinCVS:
- Everything seems to work, except that it always tries to do actions (diff, commit, etc) through [EMAIL PROTECTED]:2401/repository despite that I have not included the port number in the checkout. It always tries to log me in, and then says:
trying to login: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:2401/repository cvs server:
login succeeded: cvs server: I LOVE YOU Added: :pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:2401/repository to registered loggins
Then a window pops up, that the login failed. I have logged in to this repository (with the port number) from the command line, so it should be in my .cvspass. Still no action seems to work
Meld:
This says that every file in any checked out repository is "modified", which makes any work with it painful.
Cervisia:
This does not start at all, and provides no error message...
BTW I am struggling with an otherwise good RedHat 9 setup, installed yesterday, so probably not too crapy yet :) Still I would like to have a visual CVS client, I was so used to cervisia, I used it for months. I have never thought I will have such troubles on RedHat9 with this stuff...
