in translating the documentation. but trying to do as much as possible :D
That is one of the best things you can do, translate the manual. That helps a lot in spreading the word around the world about PHP. There used to be bug statistics too, delving into who is closing bugs, and who are commenting on them, but that was discontinued, due to people trying to be part of the top listed developers.... It is better to provide quality then to provide quantitiy, and these stats cannot measure quality. My commits for example were mostly based around fixing stuff, which was broken by others. Hartmut done a lot of maintanance commits, which helped making him number one. I am very much convinced that the top people are not exactly those who contribute the most content to the manual. This is why I have always tried to convince people to turn down any effort to create authors lists solely based on these stats.
