If livedocs have any problems with that then we can code the needed
stuff into it :) Sooner or later :)

Just one question: will livedocs ever goes live?

Nobody is working on it.... I and Medhi have commited a couple of patches
but there were no significant changes yet.
And without the promised website for the documentation team.....

There are about 450 cvs accounts for the team, but nobody is
changing/improcing the manual.... where is everybody?...

It is hard to convince someone to work on documentation stuff, since it has not that good reputation as coding extensions. Everyone needs to live from something. Mehdi was fired probably partly because of the fact that he worked a lot with us in daytime. Other past contributors try to make a living from their work, and try to manage their family life. I am 'furtunate' to still being in university and not having a girlfriend, so I can devote my free time to several OS projects, including PHP.net projects. More ofthen than not I think that I am not that fortunate to not have a girlfriend but that is another story...

Just to clarify things... I wasn't fired, I choosed to leave Nexen by my own. Why ? it's personnal and will stay this way.

Now I agree with Gabor.. I've been really involved in the various documentation projects, and this wasn't always the best thing to do.
A lot of things changed in my life since last month, and I decided not to be as active as before on the docs. I'll help on my really spare time.

This doesn't mean that I don't care about PHP.net no more, but I have some more concrete things to take care of. I have a new work to find, material problems to solve, a girl-friend to feed, etc. It's just a normal life ;)

Nuno, you're quiet new to this project. Some of the "inactive" accounts you're mentionning have been more active than you and me together by the past. I don't know half of @php.net account, and don't care about them. It's none of my buisness, none of yours.

I'm not trying to sound harsh in this mail, but I like you to take a breath and work on livedocs if you *want* not if you feel *obliged* to do so because of people inactivity.

For the record I'm in the same boat as Mehdi which is why my time dedicated to the PHP project has gone from hours to seconds per day. No girlfriend though, maybe that'll change...

Regards,
Philip

I personally enjoy working on the docs. In between trying to put food on the table, I try to find some documentation bugs to fix. I'm more into correcting small mistakes than I am documenting undocumented stuffs, but I made an exception with some socket functions. I've thought about putting some time into livedocs, but it would be a lot easier if I could even get it working in the first place. :p For some reason I get an apache error that no one yet has been able to identify. I would document Tidy, etc, but, well, I don't know jack about them :)

Is there a list somewhere of new extensions/etc that need documentation?
