Could someone please act on this (from systems@)? We *need* this change to step forward in updating the installation instructions as needed...
If you write a shell script to do it, I'll run it... but it's too much work to do all by hand :)
- move $lang/chapters/install.*.xml files to $lang/install/*.xml
It needs copying, and then removing with "cvs remove" for the old files.
Could you please help me a bit in this, since I am not familiar with CVS server side storage at all. What needs to be copied over? How is the history stored? I guess it is not enough to copy the files themselfs...
Just do a cvs delete and cvs add on them, messing with the repository is a bad idea and the history for those install. files are not really interesting[1] anyway.
That would mean that all the translators loose the revision comment connection to the version their translations used to be based on. Isn't that considered to be a problem?
I would not be much scared to step further with the delete+add approach, since this is a loooooong outstanding TODO item, and the install part need restructuring anyway, as it was discussed countless times. So the version association would be lost anyway because after the restructuring, most of the translations will become unusable for building anyway, and would need to be brought in sync.
