Hi,

I have been reading through the documentation guidelines at http://doc.php.net/php/dochowto/ and am currently familiarising myself with the way everything works. I was wondering how you decide what to edit and when. As noted in the docs, if you spot notes that could be added to the documentation, then you add them to the manual and delete notes. Apart from that, do you just browse the manual and tweak it if you feel it needs it?

I requested a CVS account by e-mailing [EMAIL PROTECTED] yesterday. On average, how long should I expect to wait until I receive a reply?

Finally, I'm interested in helping out with the website itself (not just the docs). Is the best option to e-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] and say so?

Thanks,

David Mytton

Generally we check bugs.php.net for documentational bugs, as well as user notes. Sometimes we just run into problems while reading the manual, and submit a patch. There is also an irc channel, #phpdoc, on irc.freenode.net where people can report bugs (this is also where a lot of us hang out and discuss the documentation (as well as make animal sounds and make fun of Mehdi behind his back)). You should expect to wait for your reply...for a very, very long time. As far as helping out with php.net itself, shrug, it's above my paygrade. You should probably get involved with phpdoc and get known before you go asking to help with php.net itself.
