I'd prefer improving/changing the existing part of the manual instead of
introducing a new one.

patches consist of a couple of short edits to buildsystem and
structural files, and a new folder full of new files. I have my
active development tree up using livedocs at <http://
phpdoc.gwynne.dyndns.org/index.php?q=internals2>. I haven't figured
out how to make it look decent yet, but it at least shows everything
I've worked on so far. The patch is also available from <http://
phpdoc.gwynne.dyndns.org/internals2.patch.bz2>.
