I've been tied up recently and thus not able to work on learning how to use the
tools necessary for manual updates.
The main obstacle I encountered was not being able to see the rendered html
result. I've noticed there has been a lot of discussion in this thread on
trying to get tools for using Windows to work.
Seems to me that it would be simpler to make a PHP script available on PHP.net's
server that would take an existing manual page file and diff file, and render
the result. Also, make the resultant file down-loadable. Pardon me if I'm not
using the correct buzz words. I'm new to all this.

After intending to get started helping out with the PHP documentation
for a long time, I think i'm finally
going to get there. One quick question as I begin making my own local
copy, is the documentation at
http://doc.php.net/php/dochowto/ up to date? Is there anything else I
should keep in mind?
thanks
